Mesquite Floors

If you are looking for a durable floor that will last for many years, you are looking for a mesquite floor. Mesquite flooring is harder than most of the flooring available and it is particularly stable because, unlike other woods, mesquite shrinks in two directions length and width. If your mesquite floor is installed dry it will be more resistant to cupping and curling. When you cut a mesquite board on a saw mill you can leave it outside and in the sun to dry turning it every week or so. I know no other wood that is capable of drying so fast in the sun without cracking or curling. This is important in the southwest region of the United States where the humidity in your home can range from three to fifty percent.
